Winter Training Cup
The 2010/11 Winter Cup competition starts in early November with one race planned at the start of each month until the grand finale of the 10k at the end of April 2011. All the dates, results, target times and the infamous rules will appear on this page. While no one really understands it (except Eddie) the points system has been cleverly designed to give runners of all abilities a good chance of winning! And don't worry if you have missed a race as your best 4 events will count towards the final score so you can still do well.
The Silson Winter Cup is a club competition which takes place over the Winter months.
There are several time trials taken from our Wednesday evening sessions at the Silverstone Racing Circuit. Points are allocated to each runner based on their improvement from the previous run.

Winter Cup Final Results The final placings have been influenced quite a lot by the '10k' on Wednesday, because everyone beat their target time, mostly by huge amounts (even though I adjusted the targets to take account of the slightly shorter distance they ran). Nevertheless, Jim emerged as a worthy (and in the end very clear) winner, with Dan in second place and Allan third. I don't quite understand why everyone beat the targets so easily, because the distance (9.9k as measured by Allan) seems about right -- perhaps the conditions were very good and everyone saved the best until last!
